ITALY IMMIGRATION UPDATE | 165,850 WORKER QUOTAS PLANNED FOR 2027

Italy has opened the pre-filling phase for applications under its Decreto Flussi 2027 work-entry programme. Employers can prepare applications through the ALI online portal from 23 October to 7 December 2026.

Key Details: Italy’s 2027 Work Quotas

The planned allocation is 165,850 entries across employment categories:

  • 76,200 non-seasonal workers, including 14,000 places for family assistance.

  • 89,000 seasonal workers in agriculture and tourism.

  • 650 self-employed workers.

Important Dates

  • 23 October–7 December 2026: Employer application pre-filling period.

  • 12 January 2027: First scheduled submission day (“click day”) for seasonal agricultural workers.

  • Other employment categories have separate submission dates.

Who Can Benefit?

The programme may offer opportunities for eligible non-EU nationals seeking seasonal or non-seasonal employment in Italy. Applications depend on the relevant quota, employer participation and applicable immigration requirements.

Important: Pre-filling allows employers to prepare applications; it does not itself grant a work permit or visa.

Wider European Update: Frontex Proposal

The European Commission’s proposed expansion of Frontex remains subject to agreement by the European Parliament and Council. It is a proposal, not an immediate change to Schengen visa eligibility.
