Immigration New Zealand has completed a previously announced transition of specified visitor visa application forms from its older online system to the enhanced Immigration Online platform. The affected legacy forms closed on 8 October 2026, and remaining draft applications in those forms were scheduled for deletion.
The change affects applicants using specified categories, including the General Visitor Visa, Business Visitor Visa, Academic Visitor Visa, Parent and Grandparent Visitor Visa, Guardian Visitor Visa and Medical Treatment Visitor Visa, along with other listed visitor categories.
Applicants whose unfinished drafts were affected may need to start a new application through the enhanced online system. However, applications already submitted before the transition do not need to be resubmitted solely because the old application form has closed.
This is an application-system change, not a general change to visa eligibility requirements. Student visa applicants should continue using the appropriate application portal for their own visa category.
Important Points
• What changed: Specified older visitor visa application forms closed following the transition to the enhanced Immigration Online platform.
• Who is affected: Applicants using the listed visitor visa categories and other specified legacy forms.
• Effective date: 8 October 2026
• What applicants should know: Check the current official portal, confirm whether your visa category has transitioned and restart an affected unfinished draft if required.
