Canada’s immigration updates include upcoming Express Entry CRS changes for eligible high-wage work experience and job offers, alongside British Columbia’s latest entrepreneur immigration invitation round.
1. Express Entry CRS Changes — Effective 3 November 2026
Additional CRS points for eligible Canadian work experience of 12 months:
2× or more the national median wage: 70 points
1.5× or more: 40 points
1.3× or more: 20 points
Additional CRS points for qualifying job offers:
2× or more the national median wage: 100 points
1.5× or more: 70 points
1.3× or more: 50 points
Important details:
Candidates cannot combine the work-experience and job-offer awards; the higher applicable award will apply.
Qualifying job offers will no longer require an LMIA for the specified CRS points and relevant Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) requirements.
Existing profiles are expected to be recalculated automatically.
Candidates seeking job-offer points should ensure the required information is entered before 3 November.
A higher CRS score does not guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
2. BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Draw
British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) listed the following entrepreneur invitation results:
Base stream: 10 invitations issued; minimum score of 118.
Regional stream: Fewer than 5 invitations issued; minimum score of 118.
These are business and entrepreneur immigration pathways, not general skilled-worker or federal Express Entry draws. Applicants must meet the applicable business, investment and program requirements.
