UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has listed updates to its Worker sponsor register and Student sponsor register. These registers are important for employers, international students and applicants planning to work or study in the United Kingdom.
1. Worker Sponsor Register Update
Employers should confirm that their organisation and relevant sponsor licence details appear correctly on the current register.
Applicants pursuing sponsored employment should check their prospective employer’s sponsorship status before proceeding with a job application.
2. Student Sponsor Register Update
International students should verify that their intended university or college appears on the current Student sponsor register.
The register helps applicants identify institutions authorised to sponsor eligible Student visa applications.
3. UK TB-Testing Clinic Directory Update
UKVI also listed an update to the Indonesia tuberculosis (TB) testing clinic directory. This is an administrative update relevant to applicants required to undergo TB screening, rather than a general change to UK visa eligibility.
Previously Reported Developments
15 October: Preferential fast-track visa processing for Eritrean VIPs and officials was reportedly withdrawn.
20 October: A proposed high-value investor visa route was reported as shelved.
Broader visa restrictions: A threatened wider visa shutdown should not be treated as implemented without confirmation.
